Trends of R&D for Tissue Culture

No one has succeed in producing complete plants(having roots,
stems and leaves) through cell culturing at the industrial level.
Techniques of tissue culture are being used industrially within
narrow limits.

- 1 unit of yew cell 1,000,000 units of yew cells
 - 1 gram of ginseng root    150 grams of ginseng roots

Above-mentioned products are undifferentiated tissues, which
are lacking in various useful compounds. It is generally known
that most plants produce active compounds (= secondary metabolites) when they are being redifferentiated.

R&D Achievements of Microplants Co., Ltd

Microplants developed new technology to produce useful plants
on a large scale through cell culturing.

 - 1 unit of siberian ginseng cell 1,000,000 units of siberian

ginseng cells 1,000,000 units of siberian ginseng plantlets

Any amount of plantlets can be produced if culturing process is
performed in a large-scale vessel. Microplants also set up a
production system which makes embryogenic cells be cultured
with maintenance of identical embryogenesis permanently.

Mass production of siberian ginseng is technologically completed. Microplants is preparing for about 20 kinds of useful plants.
